What you put into and onto your body literally becomes a part of you. The nutrients (or lack of nutrients) going into your system are what make up your cells, which in turn becomes your blood, organs, bones and tissues. The food you choose becomes the glow of your skin, the bright in your eyes, the energy you exude. How you feel on the inside is in many ways determined by what you put inside of your body, which extends and reflects in how you look and act to the world outside.

Whether you’re into gourmet or you like your meals quick and simple, we all have to eat – it’s essential to our vibrancy. One of the most powerful acts of self-love you can make is in recognizing that you have choice. You get to choose what you put into your body. This power can be incredibly exciting.

Eating well is an act of love and self-respect. It extends so much further than a specific weight or health goal and is instead about creating vibrancy from within. Making food choices from the well of love you have for yourself, rather than from a mindset of lack or punishment can be incredibly liberating. What you choose to eat can be the determining factor between feeling strong, happy and empowered, or feeling weak, insecure or cloudy in thought. Eating the best foods for your body allows you to step into the best version of yourself.

If you’ve tried an extreme diet or a depriving cleanse, you may have experienced feelings of frustration, a fear of failure or sensations of anxiety or stress. It’s common to witness anxiety and stress being used to motivate weight loss or achieve a desired look. For many reasons, this simply does not work. One reason comes down to motivation. Punishment can drive behavior only for so long. The thought pattern of punishment fuels the lucrative dieting industry for this reason. The motivation is not for you to keep weight off, it’s for you to continue to diet. This pattern can sound something like, “if I don’t go to the gym then I won’t give myself this”. It can even be turned positive: “If I follow the diet all month, I will reward myself with this”. Both of these scripts assume that not taking care of yourself is normal and to do so requires a punishment or a reward. But worrying or stressing about weight loss is counterproductive. In fact, it physiologically alters your ability to digest what you eat.

The beauty is that we have choice. We get to choose to feel our best – and we can fuel it at least three times a day! The strategy here is to focus on what you do get to eat. You get to eat high-energy foods that make you feel strong, positive and vibrant. BECAUSE to do anything else wouldn’t make sense. What you eat is an opportunity to live into the highest experience of life; it is a practice in radical self-love. What you put onto your plate is an opportunity to make the choice to eat well and move your body from a place of love, rather than punishment.

For today, make the choice to try a new paradigm: focus on what you get to eat versus what you don’t – because you love yourself, you get to feed yourself healthy, nourishing, high-vibrational foods. Create a high vibrational morning with the below smoothie recipe, from our heart to yours!

Smoothiebowl

PERFECTLY PEAR SMOOTHIE

Ingredients:

 1 pear
 4-6 Strawberries
 2 cups spinach greens
 1 tablespoon maca powder
 2 tablespoons chia seeds
 2 tablespoons fresh ginger
 2 tablespoons hemp hearts
 2.5 cups of water

Method:
 Combine all ingredients into a blender on high for 2-3 minutes
 Top with sliced strawberries, chia seeds and bee pollen
