Provita is nothing without our team! We only bring on board the elite in the fitness and wellness industry so you can have the best Provita experience. This year, we are excited to share knowledge, experience and tid bits of great info from our teachers, trainers, and therapists so you can stay healthy all through 2016. Every month, we’ll feature two Provita Pros from New York and Los Angeles, and ask them a few questions so you can get to know them better and learn some great health and wellness tips. Enjoy!!

To kick off the New Year, we’re featuring Yoga Pro LA, Kim Murphy and Fitness Pro NY, Paola Lenis. Check out their fitness and health tips below.

YOGA PRO LA: KIM MURPHY

Kim Murphy is one of our Yoga Pros from LA and has been teaching yoga for 14 years.
Her strong client results include weight loss, stress management, increased flexibility and strength, and relief from back pain.

Question #1: Do you have a New Year’s resolution or intention for 2016? If so, please share with us what it is?
Yes! To consciously be aware of my attitude and attention in the moment – and if necessary, redirect to connect with my SOUL energy. My overall intention for the year is to commit to LOVE and all its many facets.

Question #2: What’s your advice on how to choose fitness goals for oneself? And how to stick to them.
When choosing a goal remember it is multilayered and approach it that way. For example – you want to lose 10 pounds and keep it off. First what is your cause or reason behind losing the weight? Do you want to have more energy? Look better? Health concerns? What qualities do you need to cultivate to reach this goal – discipline, forgiveness, humility, kindness, tolerance? Lastly, OBSERVE yourself non judgmentally. Are you really busy, stressed and overeating to keep going? If so that needs to be addressed to reach your goal. Also please remember these habits didn’t happen overnight and true change takes time and often many tries. Stay the course even if you hit a rough patch. You will succeed!

Question #3: Do you have a favorite class right now? Where, who teaches it and why?
Jesse Schein is amazing! She teaches at YogaWorks in Santa Monica. She is an incredible guide with just the right blend of instruction and silence. I learn something every time I take her class.

FITNESS PRO NY: PAOLA LENIS

PAOLA

Paola Lenis is one of our NY Provita Pros and has a passion to help people from all walks of life to achieve their fitness goals. Her specialties are weight loss, nutrition, corrective exercise, and pre/post natal. Her motto is “Exercise and nutrition are the key to a long, happy, and healthy life.”

Question #1: Do you have a New Year’s resolution or intention for 2016? If so, please share with us what it is?
My New year resolution for this year will be to maintain a healthy weight and look the best I can for my upcoming wedding in Colombia, South America.

Question #2: What’s your advice on how to choose fitness goals for oneself? And how to stick to them.
In my experience, fitness goals need to be realistic for one’s body type and taken in small steps. Drastic changes in diet and exercise never last and can cause long term problems physically and emotionally. Setting small attainable goals is the best way to be successful long term and maintain change.

Question #3: Do you have a favorite class right now? Where, who teaches it and why?
On my down time, I take sewing classes in Hoboken. I love to be creative and work on small crafty sewing projects. It’s a nice way to decompress and just focus on the task at hand. It’s a great feeling to create something out of nothing.
